Evelyn Maureen Irwin Miller Born April 3,1923 Belfast, Northern Ireland Passed August 9, 2020 Harvest, Al in the Miller’s home with Evelyn sitting in her chair, passed away, after a loving conversation with her devoted husband of 51 years marriage to Claude Miller. Evelyn was the older of two children born to Robert Irwin and Eva Bennett Irwin. The Irwin family were very active members of the Church of Ireland which was the Episcopal, Protestant faith and when the church changed to including Catholic Faith the Irwin then joined for the rest of their life the Drumcree Church where many family members have been buried. Evelyn attended the most prestigious Queen’s University in Belfast majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Geography. Evelyn was one of twelve to be accepted into the British Military typing pool, then for the American General Pattern. After the war she then came to America. After her husband passed awhile later she meet the love of her life Claude O. Miller while living in Tulsa, Ok and shortly after they married. Claude was working in Hustsville, Alabama due to Claudes work they moved to Alabama. Being the social butterfly that she was she quickly adapted and joined the new comers club, dining with a flare, garden club and learned to play bridge along with learning to bowl and never had a problem making new friends. She was also an Eastern Star due to her father’s Masonic Lodge Affiliation. Due to Claude’s employment they lived in many different places and Evelyn always found her way and joined many social events. After Claude retired, they settled in Harvest, Al. Evelyn reconvened with all her clubs and old friends and made many new friends. Evelyn and Claude enjoyed celebrating many holidays with family and friends. The couple enjoyed decorating and cooking together to prepare for these events. Evelyn loved spending, summers with grandchildren, going to the beach, traveling and much, much more. Evelyn lived a full and amazing life with no regrets. She is survived by her husband, Claude O Miller husband; Children, Tracie Evelyn Englen Moreno, Kathleen Virginia (Ginny) Galyon, Carolyn Mari Burnside and Gary Omar Miller; Grandchildren, Carolyn M Englen Duncan, Ginny I Coats, Tracie L Lynchard, Mandy K Schell and Corey M Burnside; 9 Great Grandchildren. A Memorial Service for Mrs. Miller will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
