Elna Toone Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Elna Marie Brackeen Toone age 81 of Athens, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Toone was born November 27, 1929 in Limestone County to Carlous Otto Brackeen and Etta Mae Lynn Brackeen. Services for Mrs. Toone are Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Friday, June 24, 2011 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Collier Raley and Nathan Brackeen officiating. Mrs. Toone was a member of the Church of Christ. She attended Cartwright Church of Christ and was a charter member of the Owens Volunteer Fire Department since 1978. She enjoyed reading, puzzles and gardening. She is survived by her three sons, Joe Carden Toone and wife Rebecca, Richard Alan Toone and wife Lynda, and Timothy Lane Toone and wife Kristie; five brothers, Glenn Brackeen and wife Betty, Wayne “Bud” Brackeen and wife Jean, Keith Brackeen and wife Faye, Phillip Brackeen and wife Kaye and Nathan Brackeen and wife Debbie; three sisters, Cleatus Brooks and husband Lewie, YuVawn Blakely and Cornelia Pepper and husband Jerry; four grandsons, Jason Toone, Shawn Toone and wife Mary Beth, Justin Toone and wife Katie and Jake Toone; two great-grandchildren, Ryder Toone and Annsley Toone. She is preceded in death by her husband J.C. Toone, parents Carlous Otto and Etta Mae Brackeen and her sister Joan Lovell. Pallbearers are Jason Toone, Shawn Toone, Justin Toone, Jason Brackeen, Tommy Toone, Derek Barentt and Tommy Toone. Honorary Pallbearers are members of the Owens Volunteer Fire Department. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Athens Bible School and the Owens Volunteer Fire Department.
