Mrs. Margaret “Margie” Alvina Sanchez, age 90 of Athens, AL passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mrs. Sanchez was born on January 31, 1928 in Northland, Wisconsin to Floyd and Goldie Shaw.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband Trinidad “Trini” Sanchez and her son, Steve Sanchez.
She is survived by her sons, Ed Sanchez (Theresa) of Franklin, TN, Nick Sanchez(Donna) of Bastrop, TX and Roy Sanchez of Athens, AL; daughter, Janeen Thompson (Gilbert) of Wittenberg, WI; daughter-in-law, Judy Sanchez; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and her sister, RoseAnn Jones of Pinellas Park, FL.
Margie fostered 38 children, including 23 babies for adoption. She worked at Federal Reserve Bank Detroit as a cook. Margie had a great sense of humor and a very open home to all. She loved and could train any animal. She especially loved large dogs. Margie played the piano and sang up to her last days, bringing a smile to many.
Services for Mrs. Sanchez will be at 11:00AM on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Charles Vaughn and Conner Turpin officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00PM Friday, November 30, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Center Point Cemetery, Center Point, TN.
Pallbearers are Colton Sanchez, Cade Sanchez, Zack Lyman, Bailey Biggs, Daltin Simmons, Dylan Simmons, Alex Cole and Kaden Gould.
