Larry Glenn Haney

Larry Glenn Haney, 62, of Athens died Monday, February 8, 2010 at home with his family after a brief illness. He was born July 26, 1947, in Limestone County to Ross E. Haney and Ludie Lemay Haney. He was a 1966 graduate of Lexington High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Faye Hammond of Lexington, and a brother, Charles Haney of Athens. Mr. Haney is survived by his wife, Diane Beasley Haney, and his children. Daughter: Laura Haney Purner and husband, David; Son: Jason Glenn Haney and wife, Meagan. Grandchildren: Kristen Pepper, and Walton Purner and William Purner, all of Athens. His surviving siblings are Carolyn Stewart of Lexington, AL., and Nancy Clem and husband, Harold of Somerville, AL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and numerous beloved cousins. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 10, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. with funeral services on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Blankenship officiating. Pallbearers will be B. L. Griggs and Wayne Tarpley of Athens, Bobby Stapler of Huntsville, Dewayne Clem of Decatur, Terry Garner of Anderson, and William Beasley of Ardmore, TN. His family would like to thank Rev. and Mrs. A. Ray Blankenship, and the members of Salem United Methodist Church, Hospice of Limestone County, Dr. James and Mrs. Sharon Walker and their staff, Dr. McCarty and Dr. Matthews and their staff at Clearview Cancer Institute for all their care and support during this difficult time.
