Barbara Ann Yell, 84 of Athens, passed away on Thursday, January 27th, 2022, at Madison Hospital. Mrs. Yell was born on July 2nd, 1937, to Jack and Minnie Brown Covington. Mrs. Yell is survived by her sons Anthony Sanderson, of Madison, and Jamie Sanderson, of Georgia; daughter Angel Baran (Matt) of Hazel Green; grandchildren Christopher Baran and Hannah Baran; brothers Calvin Covington (Betty Lou), of Athens, and Jack Covington (Barbara) of Atlanta, GA; and sister Judy Roberson, of Hazel Green. Preceded in death by her parents; husband Ollie Sanderson; husband James Yell; brother Wayne Covington; and sister Faye Pitts. Funeral services for Mrs. Yell will be Saturday, January 29th, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Jordan Park Church of Christ, with Steve Klein, Anthony Sanderson, and Jack Bradford officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, January 29th, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Huntsville Memory Gardens will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Doug Fields, Bryan Griffin, Craig Calvert, Mark Hall, Henry Cook, and Shelby Basham. Most important in Mrs. Yell’s life was being a Christian and faithful servant to the Lord. She enjoyed painting, loved Disney World, and spending time with family and friends. She strived to serve others. She loved children and loved being a foster parent. And she truly loved her son and spending time with him.
