Naola Blackburn Bailey

Naola Blackburn Bailey Age 94 Born on July 18, 1915 to Monroe Sublett and Winnie Halbrooks Blackburn in Decatur, AL. Mrs. Bailey passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at her home in Athens, AL. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010, from 2-9pm at the Sardis Springs Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the Sardis Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Bailey and Bro. Tim Keenum officiating. Interment will be in Sardis Springs Cemetery. Naola was a member of Sardis Springs Baptist Church since her teen years, where she served faithfully for many years, as a Sunday School teacher, WMU Director, working with the youth. She and her husband organized the 1st V.B.S. at Sardis Springs Baptist Church. She was a member of the AARP, Joy Club, and the Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her late husband: Eugene Bailey, sons: Joe David Bailey , Hal Bailey, sons-in-law: Harry Roberts, Hural Jones. Brothers: Jessie Blackburn, Rueben Blackburn; sisters: Doris Blackburn, Imogene Blackburn, Eula Butalla, Jaque Bailey. She is survived by: children: June Daphney Jones, John D. & wife, Lavon Bailey, Joy and husband Tony Brewer, Jack and wife, June Bailey, Amy Beth and husband, Steve Pressnell. Daughter: Holly Roberts, Daughter-in-Law:Gudrun Bailey, brothers: David Blackburn, Billie Blackburn of Athens , Donald Blackburn of Pelham, AL; sister: Freeda McCulloch of Athens, AL and Tootsie Gooch. Grandchildren: Beverly Deffenbaugh, TimJones, Henry Bailey, Tina Barbre, Lola Hodges, Elizabeth Green, Amanda Vining, Renee Smith, Lydia Pressnell, Jessica Evans, Hannah Harding, Joe David Bailey, Hope Garner, Holly Reeves, Heather Smith, Ben Pressnell, Heath Roberts. (2) step- grandchildren: Misty Standfield, Jessica Bruns 32 Great Grandchildren, 3 Step-Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchildren. Pallbearers: Tim Jones , Henry Bailey, Joe David Bailey, Ben Pressnell, Heath Bailey Roberts, Mick Vining, Kevin Pressnell. Honorary Pallbearers: Grandson in-laws and Great Grandsons. In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County, Sardis Springs Baptist Church Building Fund and St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
