Jeffrey Mark Hill

Jeff was born in 1958 to Boss and Anna Davis Hill. He lived his entire life in the small community he loved, Elkmont, AL. Attending Elkmont High School, he graduated in 1977 and began working for General Motors at Saginaw Steering Gear which became the Delphi Plant. He made lifelong friendships with his co-workers and retired after 32 years of service. Jeff and his best friend, Darryl Brock formed a small remodeling business and enjoyed their partnership for several years. He ended his career with a job and co-workers he truly loved, working in Material Management and Plant Operations at Madison Hospital. Jeff loved his family, and they were his priority both immediate and extended. He married his wife Mona in 1983 and reveled in the birth of daughter, Savannah McKenzie in 1986. He was a loving and devoted husband, daddy, and father-in-law, welcoming Savannah’s husband Dustin Clark in 2019. He was over-joyed at becoming a grandfather to a precious baby girl in October. He is survived by wife, Mona, daughter Savannah Clark (Dustin), sister Barbara Edger (Butch), brother Neal Hill (Gail), nephew Brian Hill, niece Allison Gentle (Todd), great nephews Justin Hill, Reed Gentle and Hayes Gentle and mother-in-law Martha Scott. He loved all sports, playing high school football and was a lifelong Auburn fan. He most enjoyed going to the Amish country in Etheridge, TN. He was a Christian and a member of Lindsey Lane North Baptist Church in Elkmont. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law Dalton Scott. He was well loved by family, friends, co-workers and neighbors and he reciprocated that love. Jeff fought a valiant 6-year battle against renal cancer. He received amazing care at Clearview Cancer Institute from Dr. Marshall Schreeder and his caring oncology team. Jeff’s passing will forever leave a void in our hearts. Psalms 30:5 says “Weeping lasts for the night but joy comes in the morning.” We rejoice that he is now with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Funeral services for Jeff will be on Friday, August 20th, 2021, at 10:00am at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Darryl Brock and Pastor Alan Ostrzycki officiating. The burial will be at Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harvey Davis, Andy Davis, John Curtis, Marcus Hobbs, Todd Gentle, John Morris, Joseph Baker, and Ricky Robinson. Honorary pallbearers are Lester Smith, Joey Thompson, Neil Smith, Randy Rogers, Gary McDonald, Joey Baker, Wes Brock, Lee Brock, and Madison Hospital Plant Operations Department. The family asks that you please wear a mask to the services.
