John Tyler Lindsay 65 of Athens, passed away at home on Sat. March 6, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Catherine Lindsay also of Athens. He is survived by his wife Gerry Kyle Lindsay, Sons: Jon Lindsay and wife Trina of Savannah, Tn., Travis Lindsay of Athens. Daughter: Amy Carlotta and Husband Oliver of Athens. Stepson: J.J. Terrell of Athens, and Stepdaughter: Ramona Young and Husband Anthony of Athens. Sister: Rachel Lindsay of Fayetteville, Ga. Brother: George Lindsay and wife Janice of Athens, and Half Sister:Virginia Ryan of Goodlettsville, Tenn. Half Brother: Bud Lindsay of Rossville, Ga. as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
John was a graduate of West Limestone High School. He served as a Marine in the Viet Nam War. He was a member of the church of Christ last worshipping with Oakland congregation. Funeral will be at Limestone Chapel with Brother Jeff May officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday March 7 from 6pm-9pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral home. Service will be Monday March 8 at 2pm at Limestone Chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
