Obituary:

Mr. Hicks , age 76  of Madison, AL,  passed away on February 24, 2010 at the Valley View Health and Rehab. in Madison, AL.

 Mr. Hicks was born on January 29, 1934 to Marvin Todd Hicks and Eula Mae (Owens) Hicks in Limestone County, AL.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 25, 2010  from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m., also at Limestone Chapel. Officiating will be Robert Sturdivant,  Keith Crouch, Ricky Lowery and Dwight Raburn.  Interment will be at New Oakland Cemetery.

Mr. Hicks worked as a  bus driver for the Limestone County School System  and Tennessee Valley Rehab., before retiring.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a huge Alabama Crimson Tide fan and a loyal Tanner Rattler fan. 

Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his parents: Marvin and Eula Hicks, brothers: Duard Hicks and Fred Hicks, sisters: Mamie Lou McGrew and Estelle Reece Newcomb.

He is survived by his wife: Rose Hicks of Madison, AL; son: Franklin Todd Hicks of Decatur, AL; daughter: Patty Marsh and husband, Alan of Madison, AL;  brothers: Joe Hicks and wife, Frances of Athens, AL;  Don Hicks and wife, Annie of Birmingham, AL; sisters: Annabelle Clem of Athens, AL; Doris Harris and husband, William of Elkmont, AL; and Clarice Burdett of Auburndale, FL;

Grandchildren:  Austin Marsh and wife, April; Lindsay Hicks, Peyton Marsh, and Erin Miles.

Great Grandchildren: Ty and Maggie Jae Marsh

Numerous nieces and nephews

Pallbearers: Joey Hicks, Danny Harris, Austin Marsh, Tim Clem, Darrell Clem, Matt McCulley, Tyrone Wilson

Honorary Pallbearers: Alton Schrimscher, Dan Mitchell, Tom Hines, Gerald Lawler, Jimmy Malone, John Malone, Lewis Haney and Billy Haney.
