Name: Hural Alexander Jones, Jr. Dates: Birth date: April 10, 1936 Death date: February 09, 2010 Obituary: Mr. Hural Alexander Jones, Jr., age 73, of Limestone County, died Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at UAB in Birmingham, AL after an extended illness.
He was born in Wilmington, Ohio to Hural A. Jones, Sr. and Lucy Williams Jones on April 10, 1936.
Mr. Jones was a lifelong resident of Limestone County, a member of the Lions Club of Ardmore, and served as a deacon at Sardis Springs Baptist Church. He was retired from Monsanto but also worked for FBI, Piggly Wiggly and Limestone Chapel.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 54 ½ years, June Daphney Jones of Toney, AL; Son: Timothy H. Jones of Athens; Daughter: Beverly J. Deffenbaugh and husband, Mike of Toney; Brother: H. David Jones of Athens; Sisters: Vera J. Aurich and husband, Richard of League City, TX; Annette Jones, Miami, FL; Mother-in-law: Naola Bailey of Athens; Grandchildren Rebecca Deffenbaugh, Megan Colvett and husband, Jonathan, Charlie Deffenbaugh and wife, Laura, Jordan Daphne-Ann Jones and Jacob Jones, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Sardis Springs Baptist Church, from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with the funeral service being on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. The body will lie-in-state from Noon – 3:00 p.m. Officiating will be Joe David Bailey, Jack Bailey and Tim Keenum with Limestone Chapel directing.
Honorary pallbearers: Dependable S.S. Class Deacons; Nephews, Kenneth Dalton, Kenneth Croley, Kenneth Henson, Louis Deprest, Mike Wiggins, and John Holms.
