Name: William Marvin Peek Dates: Birth date: October 13, 1922 Death date: February 01, 2010 Obituary: William Marvin Peek was born on October 13, 1922, to Robert and Ora Peek in Limestone County. On February 1, 2010, his pilgrimage on this earth came to an end. William was a loving and wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be missed by all who love him.
William served in the U.S. Army during WWII. William was a farmer, a mechanic, and a “jack-of-all-trades.” He could always find a way to “fix” everything. He was a kind and generous man who was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. William was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.
The funeral for Mr. William Peek, 87, of Athens, Alabama will be Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Gerald Romine and Don Osborne officiating. Burial will be at Sandlin Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Limestone Chapel.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Earlene Taylor, and one brother, Donal Lee Peek.
Survivors: William is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Doris Blakely Peek of Athens, AL; One son: Gary Peek and wife, Gloria of Athens, AL; one daughter: Jackie Peek Romine and husband, Marcus of Athens, AL; Three grandchildren: Clellan Romine, Shana Keenon, and Dustin Peek; Three Great-Grandchildren: Avery Keenon, Cara Keenon, and Titus William Peek. Three sisters: Marie Davis, Mildred Williams and Sally Holt, all of Athens, AL; Three brothers: Hansel Peek of Decatur, AL; Leon Peek, of Athens, AL, and Kenneth Peek of Athens, AL.
Pallbearers: Jeff Peek, Brent Peek, Nicky Davis, Paul Romine, Mark Blakely, Reggie Blakely.
